The company

Established in 2002, Medtech is the culmination of over a decade of experience in robotics applied to various surgical fields such as Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Urology, Cardiovascular, Digestive, etc…. Medtech ‘s origins stemmed from the launch of the company’s first surgical robotic endeavor – BRIGIT™– whose patent portfolio was later acquired by Zimmer Inc, the world leader in orthopedic surgery, in 2006.

Today, Medtech offers a generation of Robotic Surgical Assistance dedicated specifically to neurological procedures – ROSA™. This innovative system offers a safe and effective solution by allowing for more efficient, precise and less invasive procedures when employed alongside neurosurgeons.

Our staff is comprised of a group of individuals who are dedicated to our mission. They employ technical competence and skills at the top of their field to ensure Medtech’s reliable innovation and superior technical support.

Likewise, Medtech’s managerial team boasts worldwide experience in the field of medical robotics par none. Our ongoing mission is to supply the highest in both innovation and expertise to ensure our position as the only reliable manufacturer of neurosurgical robotics.


Bertin NAHUM

President and Founder of Medtech SAS.

Prior to founding Medtech SAS in 2002, Bertin NAHUM enjoyed a decade working for leading companies where he developed robot-assisted solutions for surgery including Computer Motion Inc. (cardiac surgery, urology, etc.). Integrated Surgical Systems Inc. (orthopedic surgery) and IMMI SA (neurosurgery). Bertin NAHUM is a graduate of The National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA Lyon, France) and holds a Master of Science in Robotics from Coventry University (England).

Fernand BADANO

General Director of Medtech SAS, PhD

From 2003 to 2007, Fernand BADANO was the General Manager of AP Technologies, a Swiss company who develops and contract manufactures medical equipment. From 1994 and 2002, he served as Chief Technical Officer and General Manager of ISS SA, a French company specializing in computer-assisted surgery where they developed and distributed robotic devices for both orthopedic and neurosurgical applications. Prior to joining ISS SA, Fernand BADANO was the Project Manager of a joint Swiss-French research venture in the field of Robotics. Fernand BADANO also served as Business Development Consultant for medical technology as well as venture capital fund companies. Additionally, he held a teaching position at INSA Lyons, a French engineering school.

Patrick DEHOUR

Director of Operations, PhD

Over the course of 14 years prior to joining Medtech SAS in 2009, Patrick DEHOUR developed and distributed pulmonary ventilators at SAIME, a French company in the home-care ventilation industry. From 1994 to 1998, he personally designed a range of pulmonary ventilators. From 1999 to 2008, he held the position of Chief Officer of Product Development and Quality.

Eric CAILLÉ

North American Sales & Marketing Manager

Prior to joining Medtech Surgical, Eric CAILLÉ spent 14 years with PMT Corporation, a North American-based medical manufacturer specializing in Neurosurgery and Orthotics. In his most recent position, Eric CAILLÉ was in charge of Worldwide Sales of Neurological Electrodes. He has broad experience in Sales & Marketing, Sales Management, and Regulatory in the Medical device industry. Eric is a graduate of the Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Montréal, CANADA and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Eric CAILLÉ is a dual citizen, born and raised in France. He resides in the USA since 1991.

Eric TASSEL

Director Customer Service

Eric TASSEL has been involved in the ongoing development of Medtech SAS since its inception in 2002. After having successfully occupied various positions within MedTech, he now serves as the Director of Customer Service and oversees the installation of our robotics on-site as well as offers support and training to the end users. Eric TASSEL is a degreed biomedical engineer from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France, and holds a Master’s Degree in Innovation Management from the Institute of Administration of Companies (IAE), also in Toulouse, France.

Cécile GENEVIEVE

Quality and Regulatory Affairs Manager.

Prior to joining Medtech SAS, Cécile GENEVIEVE was Project Manager in the automobile industry in the innovative optical systems development field. She was involved from the conception phase up to the industrialization; therefore, she has evolved in an environment constrained by quality and regulations. Cécile GENEVIEVE is a graduate from the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA Lyons, France) and holds a Master of Science in Mechanical from the University of the Sciences in Lyons (France).
